Shannan & Chris started Carve Pilates with a simple goal: to help people live healthier, happier lives. Since then, we've grown into a community of fitness enthusiasts who are passionate about sharing our love for fitness.


Shannan has a BS in Psychology (USF 2010) and a MS in Exercise Physiology (Cal Poly Pomona 2010). She received her Pilates training through Balanced Body instructor Marie-Jose' Blom, Long Beach CA 2010.


Shannan began her professional exercise career as a Personal Trainer in Orange County. Upon finding Pilates for her own skeletal/tissue issues she pursued her training and ongoing teaching of the discipline. She works enthusiastically to share this discipline with every body!

Chris began his passion for fitness in High School with swimming and water polo. He started a Weight training conditioning program for these sports and also taught swim lessons and lifeguarding. He attained captain of his varsity water polo team as a sophomore and made second and eventually first team league status during high school. Dur

Chris began his passion for fitness in High School with swimming and water polo. He started a Weight training conditioning program for these sports and also taught swim lessons and lifeguarding. He attained captain of his varsity water polo team as a sophomore and made second and eventually first team league status during high school. During that time Chris was very interested in snow skiing and spent many winters skiing in the Sierras with his family. He attended University of Utah and skied for the Snowbird Mogul Team, which was instructed by world class expert mogul skiers & he also attended camps on Mt. Hood for training during the summer. 

Chris renewed his commitment to serious weight training after meeting Shannan. The two enjoy  traditional rock climbing, backpacking, and mountain biking. Chris came into teaching fitness training organically because he was an art teacher for 25 years. He realized he wanted to share some of the athletic/health skills he learned from many years of staying active and retaining mobility.

Becca has been teaching Reformer Pilates for 17 years, guiding clients of all ages and abilities to build strength, flexibility, and confidence. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment, offering personalized modifications and variations to help each student succeed. Outside the studio, Becca enjoys spending time with her daught

Becca has been teaching Reformer Pilates for 17 years, guiding clients of all ages and abilities to build strength, flexibility, and confidence. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment, offering personalized modifications and variations to help each student succeed. Outside the studio, Becca enjoys spending time with her daughter and stepson, paddleboarding, hanging out with friends, and soaking up time with her beloved dogs. Since moving to Lake County last April, she has fallen in love with the area. Her passion for movement and community is at the heart of everything she does.
